£5 a round, rosettes available for all clear rounds. Open to all (not just TBs)
Outside on grass (weather permitting – will move indoor if necessary)

BTRC Open Day

Please note this is a new date (moved from 13.08.2022) as we are aligning with National Racehorse Week.
Come along and visit BTRC – the yard will be open for you to meet all of our horses and find out more about our work. Take a tour of the facilities and chat to the team about the retraining and rehabilitation techniques we use.
There will be refreshments available and the BTRC second hand tack shop will be open for you to grab a bargain whilst supporting our work!

BTRC Coffee Morning
Saturday 9th April 11am – 1pm
We are delighted to announce our next informal coffee morning will take place 11am – 1pm on Saturday 9th April 2022. The Centre will be open for visitors to enjoy a stroll around the yard, meet the horses and watch the team at work rehabilitating and retraining our retired thoroughbreds, all whilst enjoying coffee and cake!
Tickets are £10 for adults and £5 for under 16’s and will include tea/coffee and cake. Booking is essential due to limited spaces, please email email@example.com to book your place.
Between the Lines – Lunging & Longlining Clinic & Demo

We are delighted to be hosting this event alongside BHS North West The British Horse Society. A lot of our work rehabilitating and retraining thoroughbreds involves longlining and some lunging, they are both very effective training methods when used correctly. This event will cover lunging, long lining techniques and equipment. The session will look at…
– What it is used for and why
– Equipment and preparation
– How to lunge or longline effectively
– Lunging and longlining for rehab, maintenance or production
Presenters include Gillian Carlisle, BTRC CEO and experienced BHS Stage 4 Coach in Complete Horsemanship, who has previously managed equine operations for the Hong Kong Jockey Club, rehabilitating and retraining retired racehorse for many successful years. All presenting will be lead rehabilitation supervisor Charlotte Bewley. Charlotte has a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion through her long career working with horses, both riding and from the ground. Charlotte holds BHS Stage 1 and 2 qualifications along with a National Certificate in Horse Care and Management.
There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions during this informal session. All Tickets £25 – Individuals are welcome to participate in the lunging and long lining of the centres demo horses, should they want the opportunity to develop their skills in a hands on way which can serve as brilliant training for BHS lunge assessments. Please select the participation ticket at check out (you will need to bring your own hat, gloves to the session).Individuals also have the option to bring their own horse for demonstrating, you will need to bring your horses own equipment as it will not be possible to share equipment between horses for biosecurity reasons.For either of these options please purchase your participant ticket and contact firstname.lastname@example.org for confirmation and further instructions
